What We Do
We train and equip indigenous Christian Leaders in Africa and immigrant leaders in the USA so that true gospel is preached, lives and communities are transformed, and new churches are planted.
LEMA Does this through:
Leadership Development
LEMA organizes annual conferences for pastors and ministry leaders in Africa and immigrant leaders in the USA. We also set up bible institutes and seminaries to train ministry leaders in theology, preaching, ministry etc.
LEMA Theological Seminary
Our Bible Institute in Nigeria has evolved into LEMA Theological Seminary, now offering degree programs to ensure that local individuals are thoroughly trained and qualified to teach and mentor others. For more information go to LEMA – Seminary Mbaitoli
LEMA Study Center
Our Mission in Uganda is a Bible Institute and Study Center, offering Certificate courses so that the untrained pastors would learn the Bible, how to preach the true gospel and observe better ministry practices.
Immigrant Training Program
Immigrants face challenges adjusting to life in the US due to language barriers and a lack of understanding of American culture. This program offers specialized training for those already leading or those who want to lead as Pastors, Elders, Deacons, and Female Leaders in immigrant and ethnic minority communities in North America. For more information go to LEMA Institute-Training Program Website
Capacity Building
Though a program of discipleship of the head, heart and hand, we build the capacity of our students and the host community to achieve sustainable development. The underlisted services offered at LEMA Seminary directly and indirectly impacts the community capacity for improved well being and economic growth.
Computer Access & Literacy
The Klooster Center for Lifelong Learning at the LEMA Seminary has a computer lab where students learn how to use computers as well as participate in online classes. Computer appreciation courses are extended to the locals at no charge.
Agro-Tech Skills Training
Our Tent Maker program trains students in agro-technical skills for bi-vocational ministry, following the example of Paul (Acts 18:1-4). This enables them to earn honest, God-honoring incomes while expanding their ministries. Pictured above, the student (along with her seven children) established a poultry farm after completing training at LEMA. While Dave Glas and Rev. Joshua Amaezechi were in Nigeria, she brought a chicken as a gift.
LEMA General Library
Our Library serves both our students and the surrounding communities. The LEMA General Library is the only public library in Mbaitoli Local Government Area (County), which has a population of around 200,000. Through the LEMA Library, we promote literacy, alleviate poverty, and contribute to the overall well-being of society.
